The Wagner Awning building, an 1895 sewing factory, is currently 59 apartments and 14,000 square feet of office space. Wagner had continuously operated as a sewing factory from 1895 until 2014, when the Ohio Awning Company relocated to a more modern facility. There was extensive lead paint abatement, brick work, and structural repair required. We left the original post and beam structure exposed and were able to refinish the 1890s maple floors. We were also able to win approval from several historic preservation commissions to replace a wing of the building that had been destroyed by a tornado in the 1950s.
